I usually book 2-4 months in advance for most of my clients, meaning my copyediting and proofreading availability tends to be limited in the short term. Experienced editors juggle a high volume of manuscripts from a steady stable of authors; it’s always advisable to send your query as early as possible in order to give us the best chance of accommodating you.
Publisher delays do occur from time to time, and last-minute editing slots can open up. I hold a waiting list for these, prioritised in order of enquiry.
Getting the timing right can be tricky. It’s a bit of a balancing act, but it really does pay to do your research well in advance and send out feelers long before your manuscript is complete. There are many variables to take into account, but considering your options ahead of time gives you the strongest odds of securing your chosen editor within your desired time frame.
In essence: Book Early to Avoid Disappointment!
To discuss your manuscript, your preferred dates, and my copyediting and proofreading availability, please feel free to send me an email or get in touch via my contact form. I will get back to you as soon as possible.
